A Wonderful Saturday
Once a week is a day called Saturday. Unlike Sunday, it is my favorite day of the weekend. Recently cast free from the immediate concerns workday, I wake excited by limitless possibility. This Saturday was no different.
A quick list of activities from the day I just mentioned:
- Guitar practice on the uncomfortable gray couch.
- J. cutting my hair on the balcony.
- Research for work. It’s okay because it only involves surfing the web.
- Brunch with A. and D. at Mesa. Decent food and a good second floor porch. Pancakes are better at Azul.
- Quick ride home to get swimsuits.
- A few hours of swimming at a coworker’s pool.
- Kicking the feather poolside.
- Getting an ice-cold bubble tea and pastries.
- Playing some small, solid games of bike polo. Adopting the new name “Splinter” because of my wooden, headless mallet.
- Sitting and reading with iced coffee at a mall while A. and J. shopped for books.
- Hot pot dinner.
- Showering.
- Minecraft.
- Gattaca.
- Snuggling.
- Solid sleep.
And some photos:
A man, a bike, and a hot pan of fried greens.
More road work near the hotel.
A caravan of workers.
A little swimming heaven.
Narrow, beautiful brick building on the corner.
Crowds near the electronics malls.
Escalators.
The ball screen.
Gokohai Hot Pot restaurant.
Hot, spicy broth.
Meats.
Weird vegetables.
Construction shanty.
Night builders.
Biking home through dark alleys.
From 11:30AM-11PM was mostly solid exercise, with two meal breaks. My body feels sore today, and I have to work. It’s a good excuse to stay inside.
