Thanksgiving Weekend
This Thanksgiving holiday, family came to town. A few photos:
Dinner, sans turkey. Note: the turkey was served in the second course. For the glut-curious, the dinner consisted of: turkey, mashed potatoes, two kinds of cranberry sauce, mashed sweet potatoes, ginger cashew green beans, rolls, stuffing, apple pie, and pumpkin pie.
Local hazelnuts.
The first family game of Settlers of Catan.
The game is afoot. If you haven’t played Catan, I recommend it. It looks like it’s for dorks, but it’s really just a less random feeling Monopoly.
Father taking a tour of my office, facing west.
Mushrooms growing by the sidewalk.
On Saturday, we went to Cannon Beach.
One of many dead seagulls brought in on the morning tide.
Old man and the sea.
J. and I.
The two ladies facing the wind.
Stone stacking on Hug Beach.
View of Manzanita from the road.
On the way back, we stopped to look at a campground in Cannon Beach. It was overrun with bold rabbits. The pasture, river and rabbits blended into an otherworldly feeling of being on the real version of the Teletubbies set.
This one ran up to me as I knelt to take photos. At first I thought it was going to lunge at my face.
Pomegranate’s in season.
Brunch at the Tin Shed.
View of the other side of the table.
Mt. Tabor Park’s magical light on a cold Sunday morning.
Knitting the night away.
Now, back to work.

Catan!
November 27th, 2007 at 8:37 amman, that is a nice update to catan.
…your friends all seem to be dorks.
Your Catan looks totally different from my Catan! The water’s not all lumpy and random-edged. What’s the deal?
and what can she be knitting?
