iPod Jailbroken!

I finally found a fairly easy way to unlock my iPod touch and add all the missing iPhone apps such as mail, maps, notes, etc. I had a couple failed attempts, but it wasn’t particularly hard. Of course, as of today there is apparently a way to do it graphically on Mac, instead of in DOS on PC. Regardless, I got it done on Friday and I uploaded all the apps through FTP to my device much like it was another computer on the network (which it is, but it’s still weird). Now I have a nice little PDA/music&video player without the monthly fee. Of course, I can’t update to new firmware, but the only reason I would do this is if could somehow offer more functionality than I made for myself. And I don’t see this happening any time soon.
