Bruce Campbell and Old Spice
During this Sunday’s NFL playoff games, Wieden + Kennedy’s new Old Spice campaign broke. The first spot stars Bruce Campbell as the unofficial spokesperson for the veteran red deodorant.
In a dark, wood paneled study Ash waxes poetic about a subject that is close to every man’s heart. The true essence of man runs deeper than ramming the ladies, driving a cool car, or even smelling good. In his words “if you’ve never had any of it, ever, people just seem to know.” This spot, supported by the rest of the campaign asserts that Experience is Everything, a different strategy than the competitor’s over-promises of sex appeal. If any deodorant can be personified as wise, this is the one.

NOTE: I didn’t make this ad. Mine airs in a few weeks.
